Day 1 - Flying from London to Denver

We flew to Denver from Heathrow airport on BA219 which left at 13:35 and arrived in Denver at 16:30. The time difference in Colorado was -7 hours to England.

We cleared customs very quickly, and our bags came out on the belt faster than normal, we left the airport just 40 minutes after we had got off the plane, a record for us.

It wasn't as cold as we were expecting it was sunny and the temperature was around 60f

We caught the Alamo bus to the depot just outside the airport and picked up our rental car a 4x4 Jeep from Alamo car rental. We then drove to the Hampton Inn at Cherry creek. On the way we stopped off at Performance bikes where I bought a bike tyres and tubes, energy bars and a bike kit bag.

We checked into our suite which had a large living / dining area, a seperate bedroom which linked onto the bathroom. The bed was an incredibly comfortable king size bed, and there was free high speed internet.

We then went to the Wild Oats super market near to the hotel and bought a load of provisions for the rest of the holiday.

I went on line and ordered some cycling gear from Primal Wear much cheaper than it would have been buying from a shop.

I then had a run in the gym at the hotel to stretch my legs after the long journey from the UK before we hit the sack.
