Colorado Skiing 2007

As it was our 10th wedding anniversary we wanted to do a holiday completely different to what we had done before to celebrate our anniversary. So we decided to go skiing in Colorado. I had not skied since I had been on a ski trip to Italy with my school way back in 1987, Clare had a lot more experience than me as she had been skiing in Italy in 1993.

We booked up a direct flight to Denver and a return from Phoenix with British Airways from London Heathrow, an SUV from Alamo, and pre-booked a room at the Hampton Inn in Denver (Cherry Creek) for our first night. And then for the rest of the holiday we stayed in a Condo at Breckenridge booked through Great Western Lodgings. We booked our ski & boot hire from Blue River Sports, and I bought our Lift tickets from World Ski at a very good rate - which was better than what you could buy direct from the resort. I also pre booked 2 days of ski lessons from the Breckenridge ski school. We had to leave a lot of the bookings to the last moment as British Airways had threatened strike action.

The holiday was good fun, although I must admit I prefer Mountain biking in warm weather. Clare really took to Skiing and by the end of the holiday was skiing much better than me.
