Italy 2006 - Day 1 - London -> Venice -> Arraba

We caught a direct flight from Gatwick airport to Venice with British airways, the flight was uneventful.

The temperature at venice was about 30c.

We picked up our car from Sixt rentals a Diesel 1.6 Vauxhall Astra with just 500k on the clock, and then drove off towards Arraba

We stopped in Belleuno at a supermarket on the main road to Arraba, and bought provisions for our stay in the Dolomites, and got some good Pizza from the in store cafe.

To the right is the view from the Hotel (Note: it was not raining when we checked in, but we didnt take a photo in the sun) Click to Enlarge

As it was nice and sunny, and still only early afternoon we decided to go out for run before dinner, running is quite tough in Arraba as the hills are very steep and the altitude makes exercise harder than normal. We then had a nice meal at the Hotel.

If you stay on a half board basis, you get a Buffet Breakfast, and then select from a menu what meal you want in the evening, as well as having salad, anti-pasta etc from a large buffet table.
