We woke up and had breakfast at the Hotel , the breakfast was quite good, we made ourselves waffles with bananas.

We went to the visitors centre and bought a NorthWest Forest Pass which was required for parking on any public lands near trail heads.

We then packed the bikes in the car and headed off to do the Dungerness River Trail, unfortunately after driving around in circles for over an hour on a maze of dirt roads, we couldn't find the start of the ride as described in the route description we had.

So we decided to give up on finding the trail, and looked for another option, eventually we saw a sign for Mt Zion, so we decided to try riding up it - so we could at least experience some riding in the area.

The ride was quite short just 2 mile out and then 2 miles back down, the trail climbed very steeply , but was nearly all rideable apart from some very steep sections with big logs acting as water bars. It was very humid, but quite cool, we caught some views as we climbed, but when we reached the top of the trail all we could see was clouds.

The descent was fast and fun, but was over far too quick. There were loads of airplants, fungus and Toadstalls, along side the trail. It was also very humid.
