Day 1 - London -> Denver

We flew to Denver from Heathrow airport on BA219 which left at 15:30 and arrived in Denver at 18:45.

We picked up our rental car a 4x4 Ford Explorer from AVIS car rental, after initially being given a very dodgy small Pontiac suv, which we turned down as unacceptable as we could not fit our bike bags in the back of it. We then drove straight to Boulder along a toll road where we had a room booked at the Quality Inn & Suites. We arrived there at 9pm.

The Room had a comfortable bed and free high speed internet.

Waiting for me at the Hotel were a few packages i'd ordered off the internet before we flew out. I'd had ordered a 5th Element rear shock and a Thomson stem from speedgoat.com some bike clothing from Primal wear, and a Garmin GPS 60cs from Amazon.com.

Buying stuff off the Internet is the cheapest way to buy stuff in America as you don't have to pay sales tax, as long as the the place you order from is not in the same state. Unless of course you go to one of the few states that dont do have sales tax.

I unpacked our bikes and put them together, luckily for use our bikes had made it over the pond in one piece again.
